Rock Trip, Keteri, Perlis 31 Aug-2 Sept 2007
There were 8 of us from KL, went to Perlis for Rock Trip to Gua Kelam and Bukit Keteri. We departed after Merdeka Celebration in IIUM grand stairs. Waiting for one more participants from Johore Bahru, we delayed out trip a few hours. We supposed not having any merdeka celebration at all, just in the cars.
Arrived in Perlis in the Friday afternoon, and we stop at our friends home, Minoq. After Jumaat prayer, we went to Gua Kelam, and start climbing there that evening. Theres a few routes that we could try, basically from 5C to 6A+.
The next day, we try another 2 routes, thats 5C and 6B (Rambang Mata). The route was set by Yen, he did the lead climb, the rest of us try the route by top rope. Its a good route, I took myself some time to get through the crux
That evening, we went to Bukit Keteri, still in Perlis, not too far from Gua Kelam, I guess around 20 km. The view was spectacular, high roof tops, many routes to try. We bring a route map provided by at camp5 website by mammut team. You can download the route guide at Camp5 website. For me, I just tried Fay and Dust in The Wind, both are 6B routes. Some of us also tried a few other routes such as Canale Grande(6A), Jamalallail (5A) and a few others.
